A. This varies on hair type, lifestyle, and how well you look after them. As a guide, you could expect to wear your braids for 3 days and up to a week, if you keep them dry and sleep with a stocking on your head or on a silk pillowcase. Braids can become fluffy and loose overnight, and obviously active play means messy hair too!
Extension braids last the same amount of time as normal braids. Tourist stalls may tell you they last up to 3 weeks, but this depends on how messy you are willing to wear them. As a rough guide, some customers take them out after a few days, more after a week, and some stretch it to a couple of weeks.
A. We recommend hair should be shoulder-length for full braids, however shorter hair can wear beautiful, half-braided styles. The same applies for colour extension braids – if hair can be braided, you can have extensions.
A. Shampoo can strip the natural grit from hair that helps to give a tighter, smoother finish, so unwashed hair gets the best result. But we understand you want hair to be clean if planning to leave it braided and unwashed for a week. For oily hair types, washing hair the night before is the best compromise.
A. Our most popular style is double Dutch braids and this is the style used for colour extension braids.
A. Around 20 minutes, depending on length and thickness of hair.
A. Sure, why not. Come on down.
A. Hey, it’s QLD, chances are you’re on holidays … who are we to stop you? But be aware getting your braids wet will affect their appearance and shorten the duration they will look presentable.
